Airtel is offering extra free 4G data with these prepaid plans: Here's how you can get it
These days, telecom operators are trying to lure consumers to their networks with additional benefits. Initiated by Jio, the trend has been adopted by all the major players of the industry. The benefits were only restricted to postpaid subscribers initially but now prepaid subscribers are also starting to see benefits in various forms. Airtel is actively working on impressing more consumers to its network and has recently revamped its popular prepaid plans under Rs 500.
The plans that receive the new benefits include those that are priced at Rs 399, Rs 448 and Rs 499. The refresh comes in the form of an additional data allotment of 400MB, thereby increasing the overall data allotment by almost half a GB. The revisions were first noted by Telecom Talk.
Starting with the lowest priced prepaid plan here - the Rs 399 plan. Earlier, this plan was offering only 1GB data on a daily basis. Now, with the revision, the daily data allotment increases to 1.4GB. Rest of the benefits remains the same for this pack. Therefore, subscribers will be able to enjoy unlimited calls and 100 messages per day. On top of that, the plan will also bundle subscription to Airtel Premium TV, one year of Norton Mobile Security and Wynk. The plan offers a validity of 84 days.
The second plan that costs Rs 449 now comes with a total data allotment of 1.9GB per day. Previously, this pack was offering a data allotment of 1.5GB data per day. This plan also offers unlimited calling and 100 messages per day. The validity stands at 82 days for now. Subscribers will also be entitled to free subscription to Airtel Premium TV, Norton Mobile Security and Wynk.
The third plan that costs Rs 499 now comes with 2.4GB data per day instead of the earlier 2GB per day limit. The validity still stands at 82 days and subscribers will also be entitled to unlimited calls and 100 free messages. This pack also carries the subscription to Airtel Premium TV, Norton Mobile Security and Wynk.
These plans are yet to roll out to the market. However, when released, these prepaid plans will offer huge competition to the list of recharge plans that Reliance Jio offers for its prepaid subscribers. The revised plans with additional data now closely compete with what Jio offers at this price point. For example, at Rs 399, Jio offers 1.5GB data per day along with unlimited calls and 100 messages per day with a validity of 84 days. And as with all Jio plans, subscribers get a free subscription to Jio apps that offer lots of options in terms of entertainment and shopping.
