Ford India is all set to launch the Figo facelift on March 15. Ahead of the introduction of the hatchback in the country, the company has released an official image of the 2019 Ford Figo. The new Ford Figo will be the second facelift from the auto major to be launched in India this year, following the debut of the updated Endeavour on February 22.

The official image shows that the 2019 Ford Figo will get a fresh front fascia, with new bumper and honeycomb grille. The headlights have been refurbished as well. The Ford Figo facelift sports 15-inch alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, the expectations are that the 2019 Ford Figo will get the company's new SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A refurbished dashboard along with fresh upholstery might as well be provided. Several features like push button start and automatic climate control may feature in the Ford Figo facelift.

But the major change might be in the powertrains of the Ford Figo facelift. It is expected to get the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, which are available with Ford Freestyle. While the three-cylinder petrol motor is good for 96 PS of power and 120 Nm of torque, the four-cylinder diesel mill churns out 100 PS of power and 215 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

An option for a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which comes with Ford Aspire, might as well be provided in the 2019 Ford Figo. This motor produces 123 PS of power and 150 Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Ford Freestyle gets safety features like six airbags, rear view camera, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), ARP (Active Rollover Prevention), HLA (Hill Launch Assist), ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and TCS (Traction Control System). These safety features are expected to be made available in the Ford Figo facelift as well.

The 2019 Ford Figo will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10. One can expect the company to introduce the Figo facelift at a starting price of less than Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
