New Delhi, Jul 16 (PTI) Delhi recorded 1,652 fresh coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the tally in the city to over 1.18 lakh, while the death toll from the disease mounted to 3,545, authorities said.
Fifty-eight fatalities have been recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the Delhi health department bulletin.
This is the sixth consecutive day when fresh cases have been reported in the range of 1,000-2,000.
While the cases have gradually dipped from July 11-13 -- July 11 (1,781), July 12 (1,574) and July 13 (1,246), from Tuesday onwards the numbers are showing a marginally upward trend.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the number of fresh cases reported were 1,606 and 1,647 respectively.
The number of active cases on Thursday stood at 17,407, down from 17,807 the previous day. On June 23, the national capital had reported the highest single-day spike of 3,947 cases, till date.
The death toll from COVID-19 in Delhi stood at 3,487 on Wednesday.
The bulletin on Thursday said the death toll from coronavirus infection has risen to 3,545 and the total number of cases has mounted to 1,18,645. Meanwhile, an order was issued on Thursday to make 200 beds operational at the under-construction Ambedkar Nagar Hospital, the bulletin said.
According to the bulletin, 97,693 patients have recovered, been discharged or migrated so far.
The number of Rapid Antigen Tests conducted on Thursday stood at 14,329 while the RT-PCR, CBNAAT and True NAAT tests figures were 5,896, in all adding to 20,225, according to the bulletin.
The total number of tests done till date in Delhi stands at 7,56,661.
The number of tests done per million, as on Thursday, was 39,824, it said.
