Eco-friendly electric bikes hit Indian roads

Unveiling the elegant eco-friendly electric bikes! Foraying into e-bike market in the country, Enigma Auto's bikes hit the roads to provide an unconventional means of transportation. Having a maximum speed of 25 kms per hour these bikes come with a price tag of 500 to 600 USD. India being a potential market for two-wheelers, is witnessing a growth in demand for environment-friendly electric vehicles. Sales of e-bikes have gone up from 90,000 units in 2009-10 to 120,000 units in 2010-11. It is expected to reach 160,000 in fiscal 2012-13.
