The investment seeks safety of principal and maximize total return after taking account of federal and state taxes for California residents. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in municipal securities rated A or better by national rating agencies and comparably rated municipal notes. It may invest up to 20% of assets in fixed-income securities rated BB or B by national rating agencies, which are not investment-grade. The fund is nondiversified.
