The investment seeks a high level of current income. The fund normally invests at least 80% of net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in high-yield, below investment-grade securities including high-yield corporate bonds and loans, municipal bonds, mortgage-backed and asset backed securities, income-producing convertible securities and preferred stocks. It may invest up to 30% of assets in U.S. dollar denominated foreign debt obligations. The fund may also invest in derivative instruments.
