The investment seeks a total return that exceeds the return of the S&P index. The fund invests in S&P index futures with a fix-income portfolio. It also may invest in S&P swap contracts. The fund normally invests at least 85% of assets in fixed income securities rated at least investment grade. It invests up to 15% of assets in securities rated below investment grade but rated B or higher. The fund may also invest a portion of assets in foreign securities.
