The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in equities of large-capitalization companies within the market capitalization range of the companies in the S&P 500 index, including common and preferred stocks. It may invest up to 20% of assets in bonds of any maturity, up to 15% of assets in junk bonds and up to 35% of assets in foreign securities. The fund may also make limited use of certain derivatives.
