The investment seeks long-term capital growth, consistent with preservation of capital and balanced by current income. The fund normally invests 50-60% of assets in equity securities selected primarily for their growth potential and 40-50% of assets in securities selected primarily for their income potential. It normally invests at least 25% of assets in fixed-income senior securities. The fund may invest without limit in foreign equity and debt securities, which may include investments in emerging markets. It limits its investment in high-yield/high-risk bonds to 35% or less of assets.
