| The investment seeks current income, and capital appreciation is a secondary objective. The fund invests in a broad range of equity and fixed-income securities that produce current income. It generally invests in dividend-paying common stocks, preferred and convertible preferred stocks, income trusts, corporate bonds, government bonds, money market instruments and cash equivalents. The fund invests investment-grade securities to be those rated BBB or higher, or if unrated. It may also invest up to 25% of assets in domestic high-yield fixed-income securities. The fund is nondiversified. |
