The investment seeks to provide a high level of current income that is exempt from federal income tax. The fund invests at least 80% of assets in municipal securities with varying maturities. These securities are generally exempt from federal income tax and not subject to the alternative minimum tax. It may also invest in U.S. Government securities and securities with various forms of credit enhancement (such as bank letters of credit).
