The investment seeks to maximize total return through a combination of income that is exempt from regular federal income tax and capital appreciation. The fund invests at least 80% of net assets in debt securities and other obligations issued by or on behalf of states, territories and possessions of the United States and the District of Columbia and their political subdivisions, agencies and instrumentalities, the interest on which is exempt from regular federal income tax. It is nondiversified.
