The investment seeks long-term total return, consistent with a lower level of risk. The fund invests primarily in other Franklin Templeton mutual funds, rather than investing directly in individual securities. It normally invests 40% of assets in equity funds, 40% of assets in fixed-income funds, and 20% of assets in short-term (money market) investments. The fund may not invest more than 25% of assets in any one underlying fund, but it may invest up to 50% of total assets in Franklin Limited Maturity U.S. Government Securities Fund and Franklin U.S. Government Securities Fund.
