The investment seeks as high a level of current income, exempt from federal income tax, as is consistent with preservation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in investment-grade municipal securities whose interest is exempt from federal income tax. It normally maintains a dollar-weighted average maturity between two and five years. The fund may also invest more than 25% of total assets in municipal securities that finance similar types of projects.
