The investment seeks capital appreciation; current income is a secondary consideration. The fund normally invests at least 80% of net assets in securities of gold and precious metals operation companies. It may buy securities of gold and precious metals operation companies located anywhere in the world and in general invests predominantly in companies located outside the U.S. The fund expects to invest a substantial portion of assets in companies falling within the small-cap (market capitalization less than $1.5 billion) and medium-cap (market capitalization of $1.5 billion to $8 billion) range. It is nondiversified.
