The investment seeks a high level of income consistent with reasonable risk; capital appreciation is a secondary consideration. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in income-producing securities such as debt securities, common stocks, preferred stocks and common and preferred shares of closed-end investment companies having portfolios consisting primarily of income-producing securities. It does not invest more than 20% of portfolio in securities rated BB or lower.
