The investment seeks current income and long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80% of net assets in income-producing common stocks of publicly traded companies engaged in the real estate industry. It may utilize options, futures contracts, options on futures contracts, and foreign currency exchange contracts. The fund may also invest up to 25% of assets, collectively, in non-dollar denominated and dollar-denominated equity securities of foreign issuers that are either listed on a U.S. stock exchange or represented by depositary receipts.
