The investment seeks to provide a high current return. The fund invests primarily in mortgage-backed securities ("MBS") issued, backed or otherwise guaranteed by the U.S. Government or its agencies or instrumentalities and currently focuses on so-called "seasoned MBS." The fund also invests in U.S. Government obligations. The fund may invest significantly in securities issued by various U.S. Government-sponsored entities. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of net assets in securities issued, backed or otherwise guaranteed by the U.S. Government, or its agencies or instrumentalities.
