The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation and current income. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in equity securities, including common and preferred stock and securities convertible into common stock, and debt securities denominated in Yen and securities of Japanese issuers. Japanese issuers include issuers that are organized under Japanese law; issuers that are listed on one of more of the Japanese Stock Exchanges; issuers that derive 50% or more of their total revenue from goods or services produced or sold in Japan; and Japanese government entities.
