The investment seeks to generate as high a level of tax-exempt income as is consistent with preservation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80% of total assets in municipal debt securities determined to be of investment grade quality. It may invest up to 20% of total assets in municipal debt securities that are determined to be below investment grade quality. The fund may hold a portion of assets in cash and cash equivalents.
