Greek tragedy: In search of the vanishing tourists

Yannis Behrakis travelled from Athens to the medieval town of Monemvasia, and to the modern Olympia Riviera resort near Ancient Olympia, to document how tourism is being affected by the country's economic crisis. Greece's sandy resorts, azure waters and ancient temples remain popular but will not be enough to pull the country out of a fifth year of recession. The pain is already being felt - tourist receipts for the first quarter tumbled by 15.1 percent to 396.3 million euros from 466.7 million euros.
