Pre-sales for the South Korean company's new Galaxy S III, a rival to Apple (AAPL - News) iPhones, are reportedly breaking records in the U.K. for smartphones using the Google (GOOG - News) Android OS. U.K.-based telecom carrier Vodafone (VOD - News) said it's the most pre-ordered Android phone it has brought out, according to the Inquirer news website. The Galaxy S III has an 8-megapixel camera in back and a 1.9-megapixel camera in front. Its 4.8-inch screen is 37% larger than the 3.5-inch screen on the iPhone. Google shares rose 1.5%.
