Mumbai, Aug 15 (IANS) Klaus Regling, CEO of European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), will deliver the First IISS Oberoi Lecture here Aug 21 on "The Euro and the Future of Europe".
The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and The Oberoi Group, India, have launched the IISS Oberoi Lecture Series and the IISS Oberoi Discussion Forum. The Lectures and the Forum meetings will take place at The Oberoi Trident, Mumbai.
The IISS Oberoi Lectures will be delivered by major personalities of importance and influence in global international affairs and of interest to the professional community in Mumbai, a statement from IISS said.
The lectures will be delivered by heads of government, government ministers, business personalities, public intellectuals or journalists of world renown.
These will be prestigious public lectures in Mumbai on matters of international significance including, but not restricted to, questions of foreign policy, defence and national security strategy, geo-economics, international law, energy security, transnational challenges ranging from terrorism to climate change, conflict resolution, international reconciliation, and domestic political change.
The spirit and purpose of the lectures would be to inspire informed intelligent public debate on matters of international importance from an international perspective delivered to an elite audience of bankers, business and opinion leaders in India's financial capital, the statement said.
The IISS Oberoi Discussion Forum would be an off-the-record conversation for a small and exclusive group of selected leaders of Indian business led by an internationally renowned expert, either from the IISS faculty or invited by the IISS.
This exclusive discussion forum would bring world-class expertise to the Mumbai business community on matters of international political and geo-economic interest.
