New Delhi: India's largest engineering and construction giant Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) Friday said its construction division -- L&T Construction -- has won orders worth Rs 10.76 billion across various businesses.
"L&T Construction has won new orders valued `1076croreacross various businesses during the first quarter (April-June) of 2012-2013," L&T said in a statement.
The Metallurgical & Material Handling business of the company secured order worth Rs 4.07 billion from Bajaj Infrastructure Development Corp Ltd to develop a coal handling system on turnkey basis for their greenfield 3x660 megawatt (MW) super thermal power project at Lalitpur in the Uttar Pradesh state.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 22 months, the statement added.
The Power Transmission & Distribution division bagged orders worth Rs 6.69 billion for construction of 132/33 kilovolt (kV) substations and other modification works in the Middle East.
On the domestic front, L&T has won order for executing electrical works under Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme for Hubli Electricity Supply Co Ltd and a few additional orders from various ongoing projects.
Shares of L&T closed at Rs 1,326.3, up 2.27%, on the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
