New Delhi: India's engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) Friday said its construction arm L&T Construction has bagged new orders worth Rs 25.92 billion so far in the first quarter (April-June) of the current fiscal 2012-13 in various segments, including commercial and residential buildings.
"L&T Construction's Building & Factories IC has won new orders valued Rs 2,592 crore during the first quarter of 2012-13," L&T said in a filing to the stock exchanges.
The company secured orders worth Rs 12.06 billion in the residential buildings category from leading developers for construction of multi-storied residential towers in Bangalore and Gurgaon, the statement said.
The firm also bagged orders worth Rs 11.65 billion for the construction of a mixed use development, hospital building and other institutional buildings in major cities across the country.
"The commercial buildings segment has bagged orders for the construction of a mixed use development, hospital building and other institutional buildings in major cities," the statement said.
The company has also been awarded orders worth Rs 2.21 billion from leading automobile firms for construction of factories.
L&T Construction is a business brand of the $12.8 billion business conglomerate Larsen & Toubro.
Shares of L&T closed at Rs 1,161.65, down 0.15%, on the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
