New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed Sadhu Ram Bansal as the executive director of the country's second largest state-run lender Punjab National Bank with effect from June 18, 2012.
Bansal, who was serving as general manager at another state-run lender Dena Bank, will continue in his new post till January 31, 2016, the date of his superannuation or until further orders, Punjab National Bank said in a filing to stock exchanges.
This is the first time Punjab National Bank has got its third executive director.
The bank's board of directors currently consists of Chairman and Managing Director K R Kamath; Executive Directors Rakesh Sethi and Usha Ananthasubramanian and Reserve Bank of India nominee Director Jasbir Singh, among others.
Shares of Punjab National Bank Tuesday ended at Rs 751.20 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, down 1.17% from the previous close.
