Bharti AXA General Insurance, a private insurer, by the end of the calendar year 2012 is planning to double its business in the southern region. During April-February period, the general insurer which had a premium collection to the tune of Rs 774 crore received around 23 percent of the total premium from the southern region of the country.
In January this year, the insurer was planning to double its business from the East from 6% to 12% by end of calendar year 2012 and Jharkhand’s contribution to the East from 7% to 14% respectively. The company had sold over 66,806 policies and had settled 8,972 claims in the East Zone.
Bharti had entered into joint ventures with the AXA group in 2006 and held 74% stake in both the ventures - Bharti AXA Life Insurance and Bharti AXA General Insurance.
