LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
The Queen of Soul is adding quite a feather in her cap with her very own pheasant! To celebrate Aretha Franklin’s birthday (Franklin turns 71 on March 25), Emmy Award-winning actress Betty White adopted a Lady Amherst’s pheasant under Franklin’s name through the Los Angeles Zoo Association’s “Adopt an Animal Program.”
“I would like to thank such an icon and American favorite like Betty White for sponsoring a beautiful pheasant in my honor. What beautiful colors!" said Franklin.
White serves as official spokesperson for life insurance settlement company The Lifeline Program, which sponsored the peacock adoption. A life settlement is a financial transaction in which a life insurance policy is sold for more than its cash surrender value, but less than its face amount. Often times a settlement provides five to eight times more than a policy’s surrender value.
“We’re honored to work with Betty and contribute to Aretha’s showy birthday surprise!” said Lifeline SVP of Market Development and Branding Stephen Terrell.
The Lifeline Program is a life settlement provider in Atlanta, GA. Founded in 1989, the company assists baby boomers, seniors and their families by purchasing unwanted or underperforming life insurance policies for immediate cash. The Lifeline Program, actively partners with insurance agencies and broker dealers to establish life settlement business lines.
