Exelis receives $121 million contract from US Army

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Defense contractor Exelis Inc. said Tuesday that it has received a $121 million contract from the Army to provide support to its wideband satellite operations centers and management sites around the world.

The contract includes a base year and six one-year option periods, the company said.

This work will be performed in various locations, including the U.S., Germany, Japan and Australia.

Shares of Exelis, which spun off from ITT Corp. last fall, rose 26 cents to close Tuesday at $9.31.
